Named after Boddinstraße, which honours Hermann Boddin, mayor of Rixdorf.
Hermann Boddin (1844–1907) led Rixdorf – today’s Neukölln – as head of the municipality from 1874 and as mayor from 1899 until his death. Because Rixdorf had a dubious reputation as an entertainment district, he pushed for the town to be renamed; permission only came in 1912. The street was named after him in 1903, during his lifetime.
