Charlottenburg

Named after Charlottenburg, the town named after Queen Sophie Charlotte.

Sophie Charlotte (1668–1705), the first Prussian queen, had the summer palace Lützenburg built near the village of Lietzow. On 5 April 1705, shortly after her death, King Friedrich I gave the settlement opposite the palace the name Charlottenburg and town rights, and the palace was renamed too. The station opened in 1882 as the western end of the Stadtbahn.
