Named after Eichborndamm – though sources disagree on which Eichborn it honours.
The stop opened in 1894 as Eichbornstraße. In 1937 the Eichbornstraße and the Charlottenburger Straße were joined as Eichborndamm (‘Damm’ = embankment road), but the station only followed in 1994 – 57 years later. Berlin’s street lists disagree on the namesake: the Breslau banker and chess player Louis Eichborn (1812–1882), or the merchant Ludwig Eichborn (1819–1903).
