Named after Nöldnerplatz, which honours the resistance fighter Erwin Nöldner.
Erwin Nöldner (1913–1944) was a communist who resisted the Nazis; he lived in nearby Türrschmidtstraße and was executed in Brandenburg-Görden prison. Before the end of the war the green, known locally as ‘Lindenplatz’, had no official name; it was named after him in 1947. The station, opened in 1902 as Rummelsburg-Ost and later called Neu-Lichtenberg, took the name in 1954.
