Named after the Oskar-Helene-Heim, a former orthopaedic home for children.
The home for disabled children opened nearby in 1914. Its name recalls its patrons, the industrialist Oskar Pintsch (1844–1912) and his wife Helene (1857–1923), who funded it. Founded as an association in 1905 on the initiative of Konrad Biesalski, it became a centre of modern care for people with physical disabilities. It closed in 2000.
