Schulzendorf

Heiligensee

Named after Schulzendorf, a settlement named after a forestry official called Schultze.

Schulzendorf was founded on 6 July 1772 by King Frederick II as ‘Schultzendorff’, at a tar kiln in the Heiligensee heath. The name comes from the forestry councillor Schultze, who had built a tar kiln on the Eichelberg (today Apolloberg) in 1708. The station first bore the double name Heiligensee-Schulzendorf; since 1925 it has been called Schulzendorf (b Tegel).
