Named after two places in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Zingst and Ribnitz-Damgarten.
Both streets were named in 1984 after places in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Zingster Straße after Zingst, Ribnitzer Straße after the town of Ribnitz-Damgarten. They are the two main streets of the ‘Ostseeviertel’ (Baltic quarter), and its RiZ shopping centre stands where they cross.
