Northwood Hills

Hillingdon

The name won a competition; it was suggested by a woman from North Harrow.

The land for the new suburb was split between the parishes of Northwood, North Harrow and Ruislip. Much of its housing was built in the 1930s by Belton Estates, led by Harry Peachey, and the station opened on 13 November 1933. Despite the name, the area lies lower than Northwood.
