Albert Borschette (1920–1976), diplomat, writer and European Commissioner.
Born in Diekirch, he was forcibly conscripted into the Wehrmacht and sent to the Eastern Front, an experience behind almost all his books. From 1958 to 1970 he was Luxembourg's Permanent Representative to the European Communities, then European Commissioner for competition until 1976. Besides this Kirchberg street, a conference centre in Brussels bears his name.
