'Alen Tramsschapp' means the old tram depot.
Trams ran through Luxembourg City from 1875 until 1964. The first line, with horse-drawn cars, ran from the station to Limpertsberg, where the depot and workshops, the 'Tramsschapp', stood. The former tram and bus depot site on rue Ermesinde is now the Tramsschapp sports and cultural centre. After 53 years without trams, the new tram line opened in 2017.
