Alphonse Weicker, lawyer and banker.
In 1919, the lawyers Alphonse Weicker and Léandre Lacroix founded the Banque Générale du Luxembourg together with the Société Générale de Belgique. Weicker later became its chairman. The bank is today's BGL BNP Paribas, and a foundation carries his name.
