Robert Baden-Powell (1857–1941), founder of Scouting.
The British army officer defended the town of Mafeking in 1899, during the Second Boer War. In August 1907 he held an experimental camp on Brownsea Island to test his ideas for training boys, and 'Scouting for Boys' followed in 1908. With his sister Agnes he also founded the Girl Guides. He visited Luxembourg with his son Peter from 12 to 14 April 1929.
