We have not yet found out where the name Kaltreis comes from. Up here stands a 40-metre water tower, completed in 1984 and put into service by the city in 1988. It holds 2,000 cubic metres of water for the plateaus around it and, curiously, stands on the territory of neighbouring Hesperange.
