'Stadion' is Luxembourgish for stadium.
The stop is named after the national stadium, the Stade de Luxembourg, opened in 2021. Its French name was announced in 2020; a petition asking for a more creative name, perhaps in Luxembourgish such as 'Stadion vu Lëtzebuerg', had no success. Since 7 July 2024 the tram line T1 also ends here, at a terminus called Stadion.
