Named after the bombing of 9 May 1944.
During the German occupation, Allied planes bombed the 'Zwickau' freight yard on the border between Howald and Bonnevoie on 9 May 1944. Fourteen people from Howald and several forced labourers were killed. A plaque at the church in Howald remembers the victims of the bombings of May 1944.
