Named after Louis Ackermann (1879–1963), industrialist.
From 1906 Ackermann was director of the gunpowder factory at Kockelscheuer, the Poudrerie de Luxembourg. On its 65-hectare site the explosive Luxite was made for nearly 70 years. Ackermann died in Antibes. To keep his memory alive, the Roeser council named the Allée Louis Ackermann at Kockelscheuer after him.
