Named after the Kockelscheuer ice rink.
'Patinoire' is French for ice rink. The city-owned rink opened on 13 November 1974 with a performance of the operetta 'Die Csárdásfürstin'; at first it had only one large rink. A second large rink followed in a new hall in September 2006, and there is also a curling lane. The public rink is open each year from 15 September to 15 April.
