Gaston Diderich (1884–1946) was a lawyer and radical-liberal politician, mayor of Luxembourg City from 1921 to 1940 and again from 1944 to 1946. The pitch is home to FC Red-Black/Egalité, formed in 2007 when Pfaffenthal's club, founded in 1909, merged with FC Egalité Weimerskirch. An avenue in Belair also bears his name.
