'Pâquerettes' are common daisies.
Another flower name in Weimershof. The French name is said to come from 'Pâques', Easter, because the daisy flowers mainly around that time. The dictionary-maker Émile Littré disagreed, since it flowers almost all year, and traced it to Old French 'pasquier', pasture. The English 'daisy' is thought to come from 'day's eye': the flower head closes at night and opens in the morning.
