Laval's Park

Weimerskirch

Named after Parc Laval, which honours Auguste Laval.

Auguste Laval (1843–1915) was a lawyer, industrialist and politician. He presided over the Chamber of Deputies from 1905 until his death in 1915 and helped create girls' schools in Luxembourg City, Diekirch, Echternach and Esch-sur-Alzette. He married into the Metz family; his widow lived in their house on Place Dargent in Eich until 1933. A street and this park in Eich and Weimerskirch bear his name.
