'Tommys Bruch': Tommy's quarry, or Tommy's marsh?
In German, 'Bruch' can be short for Steinbruch, a quarry, but it can also mean a marsh: very wet land, covered for example with reeds. We have not yet found out which of the two is meant here, nor who Tommy was.
