Bay 50th Street is one of Brooklyn’s ‘Bay’ numbered streets.
Brooklyn has ten sets of numbered streets: plain ones, and others prefixed North, South, East, West, Bay, Brighton, Paerdegat, Plumb and Flatlands. The Bay series crosses Bath Beach from Bay 7th Street in the northwest to Bay 54th Street in the southeast; the word ‘Bay’ was attached to tell them apart from the other numbering systems in the borough.
