Junius Street was formerly Johnson Avenue.
The street lies in the old town of New Lots, which joined Brooklyn in the 1880s. Local history notes reproduced by Brooklyn Genealogy Info mention a house on ‘Junius St. (formerly Johnson Ave.)’. We have not yet found out who or what the name Junius refers to.
