Basilique de Saint-Denis

Named after the Basilica of Saint-Denis nearby.

The basilica is the burial place of the kings of France. The station opened in 1976 as Saint-Denis – Basilique and was renamed when the line was extended to Saint-Denis – Université in 1998. Its subtitle is Hôtel de Ville, as the town hall is close by.
