Named after the rue du Château-Landon, after a small castle built for a Monsieur Landon.
The house was built under Louis XIV and later belonged to the nearby congregation of Saint-Lazare. Before that, the street was called the chemin des Potences, the 'gallows road'. The station opened in 1910.
