Montreuil – Hôpital

Montreuil, Noisy-le-Sec

Named after the town of Montreuil and the André-Grégoire hospital.

The station lies under the hospital grounds, on the border of Montreuil and Noisy-le-Sec. Montreuil comes from the Latin Monasteriolum, 'little monastery'; in 1951 the town officially dropped the longer name Montreuil-sous-Bois. The intercommunal hospital opened on 5 July 1965, at first only as a maternity unit. We have not yet found out who André Grégoire was.
