Named after the rue de Reuilly and the boulevard Diderot.
The rue de Reuilly led to the old royal palace of Reuilly. The boulevard honours Denis Diderot (1713–1784), writer and philosopher of the Enlightenment. The station opened in 1900 as Reuilly and was renamed in 1931, when line 8 arrived.
