Named after the church of the Holy Trinity and Honoré d'Estienne d'Orves.
The station opened in 1910 as Trinité, after the place and church of the Sainte-Trinité. It later added the name of Honoré d'Estienne d'Orves (1901–1941), a Resistance hero shot by the Germans at Mont Valérien on 29 August 1941, like the square next to it.
