Named after the ramps of a railway goods station.
The lane was named – the date is unknown – after the access roads to the ramps of the goods station of the Franz-Josefs-Bahn railway. It has been cut in two since the 1970s; the Franz-Ippisch-Steg footbridge links the two parts.
