Named after Albertine Schön (1833–1904), who helped fund the building of Neu-Weißensee.
Albertine Amalie Louise Schön, née Steuersen, was a relative of the Hamburg businessman Gustav Adolf Schön, who bought the Weißensee manor in 1872 to divide it into building plots. She helped finance the land purchase, and the street was named after her in 1875. Until 1921, Weißensee’s town hall stood here at no. 6/7.
