Betriebshof Marzahn

Named after the Marzahn tram depot, opened in 1985.

The depot was built between 1981 and 1988 on the Landsberger Allee for the new Tatra trams of the GDR era. When finished in 1988, the 10.7-hectare site had 25 open-air tracks for 300 Tatra articulated trams. The name Marzahn comes from the Slavic ‘marcana’ (Polabian for ‘swamp’).
