Biesdorf

Named after Biesdorf, an old village first recorded in 1375.

Biesdorf appears in Emperor Charles IV’s land register (Landbuch) of 1375 as ‘Bysterstorff’ or ‘Bisterstorff’, held by Hennig von der Gröben. The station opened on 1 August 1885 – 18 years after the Ostbahn (Eastern Railway) was built – and helped the village grow; in 1906 the area around it was renamed Biesdorf-Nord.
