Hermsdorf

Named after Hermsdorf, an old village on the Tegeler Fließ.

A late Slavic settlement grew up on the Tegeler Fließ stream at the end of the 11th century; around 1230 German settlers took it over. The village was first recorded in 1349 as Hermanstorp. The station opened in 1877 as Hermsdorf (Mark) and has been called Berlin-Hermsdorf since 1937/1938.
