Named after Konstanzer Straße, which honours Konstanz on Lake Constance.
The street was first named Kostnitzer Straße, after an old form of the city's name, chosen because of Konstanz's link with the history of the Hohenzollerns. As 'Kostnitz' had become outdated, the street was renamed Konstanzer Straße.
