Marienfelde

Named after the old village of Marienfelde, first recorded in 1344 as Merghenvelde.

The village arose around 1220, together with neighbouring Mariendorf, under the protection of the Knights Templar at Tempelhof, and belonged to the Templars' lands. Its earliest known record, as Merghenvelde, dates from 1344. The station opened on 17 June 1875 with the railway to Dresden.
