Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Park

Tiergarten

Named after the adjacent park, which honours the composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.

The park was laid out in 1960–1967 on the site of the former Schöneberger Hafen (harbour) and named after Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809–1847), composer, pianist and conductor of the Romantic era. The station opened in 1998; it was originally to be called Hafenplatz, after the square on the park’s north side.
