Named after Pankow’s old village church, which stands on the village green nearby.
Pankow was founded around 1230 around a village green, whose first church was most probably of wood. A 15th-century fieldstone church, which now forms the choir, replaced it. Friedrich August Stüler added a brick nave with two octagonal towers in the late 1850s. The church is now called Alte Pfarrkirche ‘Zu den Vier Evangelisten’ (Old Parish Church of the Four Evangelists).
