Named after the Rathaus Pankow, the red-brick town hall on Breite Straße.
Pankow, then not yet part of Berlin, built its town hall in 1901–1903 to designs by Wilhelm Johow, mixing neo-Gothic, neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau elements. It was inaugurated on 18 April 1903. An extension at the corner of Neue Schönholzer Straße followed in 1927–1929. It is now the seat of the borough mayor of Pankow.
