Named after Prenzlauer Allee and Ostseestraße, the ‘Baltic Sea street’.
Prenzlauer Allee is the old road to Prenzlau in the Uckermark. Ostseestraße, named in 1913, recalls the Ostsee, the Baltic Sea. At this junction the three former districts of Prenzlauer Berg, Weißensee and Pankow meet; locals call it the ‘Spitze’ (tip) or Weißenseer Spitze.
