Röntgental

Panketal

Named in honour of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, the discoverer of X-rays.

Röntgental (‘Röntgen valley’) is a residential area of Zepernick in Panketal. Development of the planned estate began in 1893, and on 1 May 1903 a halt opened in the new villa colony, linking it to Berlin and Bernau. Röntgen (1845–1923) discovered X-rays in 1895 and received the Nobel Prize in Physics when the first Nobel Prizes were awarded in 1901.
