Named after Seestraße, the ‘lake street’, and Amrumer Straße, after the island of Amrum.
Seestraße takes its name from the Plötzensee, a lake named after the Plötze, the roach; the street already appears on a map of 1827. Amrumer Straße was named in 1899 after Amrum, a German island in the North Sea. The Rudolf-Virchow hospital lies along it.
