Named after the Sportforum Hohenschönhausen, a large sports complex.
The Sportforum (officially Sportforum Berlin) groups 35 sports facilities, among them three ice rinks and a football stadium. It was built from 1954 on the site of the Kolonie Wilhelmberg, for the GDR Ministry of the Interior and the Stasi. Today its main user is the Olympiastützpunkt Berlin, the Olympic training centre.
