Named after Ullsteinstraße, which honours the publisher Leopold Ullstein.
Leopold Ullstein (1826–1899) founded the Ullstein publishing house. Beside the station stands the Ullsteinhaus, built in 1925–1927 as the firm's headquarters and printing works. After the Nazi regime forced the Jewish family to sell the firm for a pittance in 1934, the street was renamed Zastrowstraße on 3 May 1935 to erase the Ullstein name. It got its name back on 21 February 1949.
