Named after the town of Wildau, which was called Hoherlehme until 1922.
The name Wildau first appears on 22 November 1855, as a byname given to the Springziegelei estate, the site of a former brickworks. From 1897 a locomotive factory made the place an industrial centre, and in 1922 the municipality of Hoherlehme was renamed Wildau. The old village had been recorded in 1375 as Alta Lomen. The station opened in 1900.
