Named after Zechlin, near Rheinsberg in Brandenburg.
The street was named in 1976 after Dorf Zechlin and Flecken Zechlin, today parts of the town of Rheinsberg in Brandenburg. It was laid out with the new Hohenschönhausen II estate and runs in a curve from Landsberger Allee to Genslerstraße.
