Named after the Lycée des Arts et Métiers.
'Arts et métiers' means arts and trades. The school began as the École d'artisans, a crafts school created by a law of 1896. In 1910 the Jesuits sold their Bellevue writers' house here in Limpertsberg to the state, which set up the school in it. After a merger with a school in Dommeldange, it has been called Lycée des arts et métiers since 2015.
