Kierch (Beggen)

'Kierch' is Luxembourgish for church – here Beggen’s parish church.

It was built in 1936–1937 to plans by architect Joseph Jentgen and is dedicated to the Holy Family of Nazareth. Beggen became a parish of its own only in 1949; before, it belonged to Weimerskirch. In 1963–1964 Robert Leer enlarged the church with a new choir and a separate tower, about 30 metres in front of it. It has been a national monument since 2019.
