'Stadgronn-Bréck' means the bridge of the Stadgronn, or Grund.
'Stadgronn' is an everyday name for the Grund, the old quarter on the Alzette below the upper town. Craftsmen who needed the river's water settled here by the end of the early Middle Ages. The bridge over the Alzette is known for its view of the upper town, drawn by Nicolas Liez in 1834. We have not yet found out when it was built.
