Named after Rue des Peupliers: 'peupliers' is French for poplars.
Rue des Peupliers is one of four streets that meet at the crossroads where Hamm’s Holy Cross Church stands, together with Rue de la Montagne, Rue Haute and Rue de Hamm. We have not yet found out whether poplars once grew along the street.
