'Barriär' means level crossing.
In everyday Luxembourgish the crossing itself is called the Barriär. Here, just south of Walferdange station in Helmsange, level crossing PN17 closed 134 times a day, for about four hours in all. It was shut for good on 24 August 2020 and replaced by an underpass beneath the CFL tracks, opened to traffic on 11 September 2020.
